5 univs get nearly 74% of UG admissions in public varsities

The Gujarat Common Admission Services (GCAS) has completed allotment of 3,10,704 admissions across participating institutions in the ongoing admission cycle. The latest GCAS dashboard shows 6,88,591 student registrations, 6,20,237 fee payments, 5,77,589 course choices, and 5,66,128 submitted applications. Of the total allotments, 2,85,119 undergraduate seats have been allotted across Gujarat’s public universities, accounting for nearly 92% of all admissions allotted through the centralised portal.
Among public universities, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) has emerged as the biggest beneficiary with 52,298 undergraduate seat allotments. It is followed by Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan (50,678), Gujarat University (40,748), Saurashtra University (40,186), and Shri Govind Guru University (26,895). Collectively, these five universities have secured 2,10,805 allotments, accounting for nearly 74% of all undergraduate admissions allotted to public universities through GCAS.
Private universities have a much smaller share of admissions. A total of 1,119 UG seats have been allotted across 23 private universities.Â
