Over 5K apply for CUET-UG counselling against 2,205 seats at DAVV

Indore: More than 4,800 aspirants registered for Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya’s (DAVV) CUET-UG counselling by Tuesday evening, with the registration window set to close at midnight. The university officials expect the final count to increase further as students complete last-minute registrations for admissions to undergraduate and integrated programmes.According to the registration data available till Monday evening, Group B recorded the highest number of applications at 2,926, followed by Group C with 1,319, Group E with 295 and Group D with 284, taking the total registrations to 4,824.The overwhelming response was witnessed for Group B, which includes DAVV’s most sought-after professional and integrated programmes such as Integrated MBA in Management Science, E-Commerce and Foreign Trade, BCom, BA (Hons.) Economics, BBA (Aviation), BCom in Logistics, BCom in Retail Operations and Tourism Management. Admission officials expect these programmes to witness the highest cut-offs this year.DAVV is offering admissions to 2,205 seats across 28 undergraduate and integrated courses through CUET-UG. While seats are available across several teaching departments, competition is expected to be the toughest for nearly 650 seats in high-demand courses, including MBA (Management Science), BCom (Honours), BA LLB, Integrated MBA (E-Commerce), BA (Hons.) Economics, Integrated MBA (Foreign Trade) and BCom (Accounting and Tax Management). “The final count might reach around 5,000 registrations as more number of students are registering on the last day,” said CUET admissions in charge at DAVV Rajesh Sharma.The university has already released the complete counselling schedule. The merit list will be announced on July 18, following which candidates can fill their course preferences between July 18 and July 21. The first round of seat allotment will be declared on July 25. Students allotted seats will have to report to the DAVV auditorium between July 29 and July 31 for document verification and fee submission.“The entire counselling schedule has been released in advance to ensure students do not face any uncertainty during the admission process. The first round of counselling will be conducted completely online, while the second round will be held offline,” said overall admission in charge BK Tripathi.The second round of registrations will be conducted from July 25 to 28, with the merit list scheduled for Aug 1. Offline counselling will take place between Aug 7 and Aug 9, followed by college-level counselling on Aug 13 and 14. The new academic session will commence on Aug 17.Vice-chancellor Rakesh Singhai said the university continues to witness strong demand for its CUET-based programmes. “We are working on expanding classroom infrastructure and related facilities so that seat capacity can be enhanced in the coming years to accommodate more students,” he said.
