The University of Delhi on Thursday released the first allocation list for undergraduate admissions, issuing 93,033 seat allotments across 221 programmes in 67 colleges against around 71,600 undergraduate seats.
As in previous years, the university has issued more allotments than the available seats to account for withdrawals and reduce the number of admission rounds.
A total of 2,18,284 candidates registered through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), of whom 2,08,043 completed the preference-filling process. In a statement, the university stated that 42,019 male and 51,014 female candidates have been allotted seats, with an allocation rate of 86.1%.
According to the statement, “The shortlisted candidates must accept their allotted seat by 11.59 p.m. on July 18. After receiving the payment link, they must pay the admission fee. Candidates seeking an upgrade can exercise the option and reorder their higher preferences until 11.59 p.m. on July 21.”
The university added that candidates who pay the admission fee within the stipulated round can choose either the “Upgrade” or “Freeze” option. Those opting for an upgrade can reorder their higher preferences any number of times until the deadline for that round.
According to the university, 1,243 single girl children and 242 orphan students have been allotted seats.
The second allocation list will be released on July 25, and the academic session will begin on July 28.
