DU UG ADMISSION 2026: Over 60,000 seats filled after CSAS Round I; Round II to begin soon, details here

The University of Delhi (DU) has filled 63,756 undergraduate seats after the completion of the first round of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for the 2026-27 academic session. The university has also announced that CSAS Round II seat allocation will be released on July 25, 2026, ahead of the commencement of the new academic session on July 28, 2026. The first round of admissions witnessed strong participation from applicants across the country, with thousands of candidates either confirming their allotted seats or opting for an upgrade in the next round.

DU CSAS Round I: Key highlights

• 63,756 candidates confirmed their admissions by completing the online fee payment.
• 15,265 candidates selected the ‘Freeze’ option, indicating that they are satisfied with their allotted course and college and will not participate in further counselling rounds.
• 48,153 candidates opted for ‘Upgrade’, seeking admission to a higher-preference course or college in the next allocation round.
• DU had initially allocated seats to 93,033 candidates against its undergraduate intake of more than 71,000 seats across 67 colleges.

DU CSAS Round II: Important dates

Students can check their allotment status through their individual dashboards on the DU CSAS admission portal once the Round II results are announced. They should regularly check their CSAS dashboard on July 25. If they are allotted a higher-preference programme or college, they must accept the new allocation and complete the prescribed fee payment within the stipulated deadline. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of the allotted seat.

Applicants who did not receive an allocation in the first round will continue to be considered in Round II based on their submitted preferences and the availability of vacant seats. No fresh application is required unless notified by the university. Candidates are advised to closely monitor the admission portal and adhere to all deadlines to secure their admission.
