The University of Delhi (DU) has released the schedule for the next phase of undergraduate admissions under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG) 2026. The latest notification includes the dates for mid-entry registrations and the third round of seat allotment. The university has also announced that more than 71,000 candidates have confirmed their admissions for the 2026-27 academic session.

Ward quota allocation and seat upgrade schedule
According to the official schedule, the revised allocation list and the first ward quota allocation list will be published on the CSAS UG 2026 portal on August 1.
After the list is released, colleges will verify applications and confirm admissions until August 3. Candidates who receive seats must pay the admission fee by August 4.
The university has advised applicants to regularly check the admission portal for updates and complete all formalities within the given deadlines.
Round 3 seat allotment on August 8
The third round of CSAS UG 2026 counselling will begin with the release of the seat allotment list on August 8. Candidates who receive seats must accept their allotment between August 8 and August 11 (11:59 pm).
Colleges will verify and approve applications by August 12. Candidates must complete the admission fee payment by August 13 (11:59 pm).
The third round is expected to fill many of the remaining undergraduate seats across colleges and programmes after the first two rounds of admissions.
Mid-entry registration starts August 3
DU will open the mid-entry registration window from August 3 to August 5 (11:59 pm) for candidates who could not take part in the earlier admission rounds.
Students who did not register in Round 1 or Round 2, or those who registered but could not complete the admission process, can apply through mid-entry by paying an additional Rs 1,000 fee.
The university said this facility allows eligible candidates who missed earlier deadlines or left their applications incomplete to join the admission process.
Mid-entry not applicable for these categories
In its notification issued on July 29, DU clarified that the mid-entry facility will not apply to admissions under certain quotas and programme-specific categories.
These include:
- Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) Quota
- Sports Quota
- Children/Widows (CW) Quota
- Ward Supernumerary Quota
Performance-based programmes such as BA (Hons) Music and BSc (Physical Education, Health Education and Sports)
Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) programme requiring practical assessment
Candidates applying under these categories must follow the admission procedure notified separately by the university.

Over 71,000 students confirm admissions
DU has reported steady progress in this year’s admission process. As of 6:30 pm on July 29, a total of 71,342 candidates had confirmed their undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session.
Among them, 25,088 candidates selected the Upgrade option to be considered for a higher-preference college or programme in the upcoming rounds.
Another 32,233 students chose the Freeze option after Round 2, confirming that they were satisfied with their allotted college and course and did not want to participate in further seat allotment rounds.
The figures show that while many candidates have secured admissions, a large number are still waiting for better preferences in the remaining counselling rounds.
The undergraduate academic session for 2026-27 started on July 28, with colleges across the University of Delhi holding orientation programmes for newly admitted students.
