HYDERABAD: The University of Hyderabad finished PhD admissions for the 2026-27 academic year, filling 170 out of 185 seats in 27 subjects, reaching an admission rate of almost 92 percent. The university ended admissions on July 30, 2026, after using a process that included an entrance exam and interviews.
The university held the PhD entrance exam on June 6 and 7, 2026, at seven locations across India. The university held interviews from July 9 to 11, 2026. The university called candidates for admission on July 30, using a 1:3 ratio based on test and interview scores. The university will fill the remaining PhD seats in 17 subjects using UGC-NET and CSIR-UGC-NET scores after the National Testing Agency releases the results.
Earlier, the university finished postgraduate admissions in 42 subjects from July 13 to 17, 2026. The university admitted 1,201 of 1,463 students, reaching about 82 percent. The university called students for counselling using a 1:10 ratio based on CUET-PG-2026 test scores. The university has invited students from the waitlist, depending on open seats in each category and subject.
The university will hold undergraduate and integrated master’s admissions for 17 subjects on August 13 and 14, 2026. The university will notify shortlisted candidates, chosen by CUET-UG-2026 test results, on the website on August 3, 2026.
