In 2026, military schools will recruit 5,420 university and college students in the military system, an increase of more than 1,000 quotas compared to last year and the highest level in the past 5 years.

Schools use four enrollment methods, including direct admission and priority admission; considering the results of the competency assessment exam of Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City; considering the high school graduation exam scores; and considering the results of the QDA competency assessment exam organized by the Ministry of National Defense.

This is the first year the Ministry of National Defense has organized the QDA exam to serve admissions to military schools. The exam takes place from June 19-21 in three regions across the country. Candidates take the exam on computers.

The exam consists of three parts: Mathematics and data processing; Literature – Language; along with the Science or English part. Candidates know the score immediately after completing the exam.

Candidates registering for military system admission must pass preliminary selection and meet the standards of politics, culture, age, health and other regulations of the Ministry of National Defense.

In 2026, the admission floor score for 23 military schools ranges from 17 to 25 points. The Military Science Academy has the highest score, 25 points for female candidates. Followed by the Military Technical Academy with 21 points for female candidates. The lowest score is 17 points, applied to some groups of candidates at officer and college schools.

Previously, 72 candidates were directly admitted to military schools in 2026.

In 2025, the benchmark scores of military schools range from 19.6 to 30. The two 30-point levels belong to female candidates majoring in International Relations of the Military Science Academy and Medicine of the Military Medical Academy.
