Indore: Responding to persistent demands from students and colleges, the Madhya Pradesh department of higher education has reopened the undergraduate and postgraduate admission process by announcing an additional college level counselling (CLC) phase.The special admission window will remain open from Aug 10 to Aug 14, giving eligible candidates one final opportunity to secure admission for the 2026-27 academic session.The department issued the order on Sunday, stating that admissions during this additional CLC phase will be conducted strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. The facility will be available only against vacant seats in govt, govt-aided and private colleges across the state.The decision comes after several colleges reported a large number of vacant seats even after the closure of the earlier counselling rounds. Students also urged the department to provide another chance, citing delays in document verification, changes in course preferences and missed deadlines during the previous admission schedule.According to the revised guidelines, registered candidates can directly approach the college of their choice and complete admission after depositing the prescribed fee, provided seats are available. Vacancy details will be displayed on both the student login and the respective college login on the online admission portal.Students seeking fresh registration will be allowed to register in only one college during this phase. After document verification at the college help centre, they can pay the admission fee and complete the admission process on the same day.Officials clarified that the entire process will be carried out through the state’s online admission portal, with colleges facilitating verification and fee collection through designated help centres.The department has also made it clear that this will be the final admission round for the current academic session. Students must deposit the admission fee by 5 pm on Aug 14, after which no further admissions will be permitted under the 2026-27 admission process.
