After Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU) initiated the admission process for undergraduate programmes for the academic session 2026-27 following the declaration of the results for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Consequently, the admission process commenced at DAV PG College. It is important to note that HNBGU has recently initiated the admission process for undergraduate programmes for candidates who appeared in the CUET-UG 2026, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
According to the officials, candidates–wishing to apply for undergraduate programmes, including Integrated MBA, BA LLB, Diploma in Folk Dance, and Diploma in Folk Music being offered at the university campuses and affiliated colleges/institutes–must register on the SAMARTH Portal. The registration period is from July 12, (starting at 1 PM) to July 21, (until 11:55 PM).
Sharing further information about the current status of admissions, the principal, DAV PG College, Kaushal Kumar said that the university has initiated the admission process. Admissions to the college’s undergraduate programmes would be based on CUET scores. “Therefore, candidates who wish to apply for the college can do so according to the eligibility criteria. This year, around 3,200 seats for undergraduate programmes have been reserved,” he said.
Sharing more, he said that last year too, admissions for UG programmes had been conducted based on CUET. “However, about 300 seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Scheduled Castes (SC) remained vacant due to a lack of awareness about CUET. We informed the university about this issue last year and sought alternative options, but the university did not accommodate the request. We hope that this year, all seats at the college will be filled. If not, the university will be contacted for further guidance on the matter,” he added.
As per a recent notification regarding the commencement of the admission process issued by HNBGU, the candidates should visit the respective college/institute’s website or contact the appropriate office to verify the availability of programmes and eligibility criteria before applying for admission through the SAMARTH Admission Portal.
Additionally, candidates should carefully complete the online application form, upload all required documents and submit the registration fee within the specified timeframe. Candidates are also encouraged to regularly check the university website and the SAMARTH portal for any updates related to admissions.
