Delhi University (DU) is likely to kick off the application process for admission to undergraduate courses this week and hoping to begin the 2026-27 academic session by the first week of August.
A day after the release of the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) results, DU Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh said, “The admission process will begin soon, and we are aiming to start the academic session by the first week of August.”
DU will notify the start of registrations on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal this week, a university official said, adding that candidates have been advised to keep monitoring the portal.
This year, technical difficulties at some centres led to a CUET-UG retest on June 6 and 7. On Tuesday, the National Testing Agency (NTA) said the results had been declared within 16 days of the completion of the exam, 14 days earlier than in the previous cycle.
Other Central universities too are gearing up to roll out the admissions. The V-C of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi, Anu Singh Lather, said, “As soon as the NTA shares the results with us, we will begin the process. Because the results have been declared on time this year, we expect to conclude multiple rounds of admissions in a month.”
Jamia Millia Islamia, which offers 25 courses based on CUET scores, has already begun registrations and will soon start the seat allocation process.
Miranda House held an open house session from June 17 to 22 to guide prospective students regarding admissions. Visitors were given a tour and had their admission-related queries answered.
DU officials said there are no major changes in the process this year. CUET results will determine admissions, and board exam results will be used only as a tiebreaker if two candidates have identical results and preferences.
