The principal, DAV PG College, Kaushal Kumar said that there are still some vacant seats in its undergraduate courses, It is important to note that the college recently commenced the admission process for the Undergraduate first semester for BA, BCom and BSc programs for the 2026-27 academic session. Initially, the admission process was set to close on August 1.
However, due to heavy rainfall, many candidates were unable to arrive in time for their admissions, prompting the college to extend the deadline. Admissions are conducted based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Nonetheless, some seats have been reported as vacant at the college.
Commenting on this, the principal of the college said that some seats in UG courses remain vacant “Many candidates did not attempt the CUET or were not aware of the requirements. The college administration is seeking guidance from Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University regarding this issue,” Kumar said.
Kumar further informed that last year, admissions for UG programmes were also based on CUET. “However, about 300 seats, reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Scheduled Castes (SC), remained vacant due to a lack of awareness about CUET,” he said.
As per reports received, the university will open a two-day registration period for students who have not registered or participated in CUET for UG course admission registration at affiliated colleges after August 10.
