Dhaka University (DU) today announced the admission schedule for its 2026-27 undergraduate programmes, with online applications set to begin on November 11.
The decisions were taken at a meeting of the university’s General Admission Committee at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof ABM Obaidul Islam.
Online applications will open at 12:00pm on November 11 and close at 11:59pm on November 25.
Admission tests will be held under five units: Arts, Law and Social Science; Science; Business Studies; Fine Arts; and IBA.
According to the schedule, the IBA admission test will be held on December 5, followed by the Science Unit on December 12, the Arts, Law and Social Science Unit on December 19, the Fine Arts Unit on December 22, and the Business Studies Unit on December 26.
Except for the Fine Arts and IBA units, admission tests will be conducted simultaneously in Dhaka and seven other divisional centres: Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Khulna University, Barishal University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh, and Begum Rokeya University.
The committee also decided to introduce a separate question paper for English-medium students in the Science Unit, following their curriculum.
For the Arts, Law and Social Science, Science and Business Studies units, the admission test will comprise 60 marks in multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 40 marks in written examinations. The Fine Arts Unit will have a 40-mark MCQ test and a 60-mark drawing test, while the IBA Unit will consist of a 70-mark MCQ test and a 30-mark descriptive examination.
The university also announced that classes for first-year students of the 2026-27 academic session will begin on March 28, 2027.
