Moldova starts 2026 university admission campaign

Admission to the university

“Study in Moldova! — That’s our slogan and our call to you. We welcome all high school seniors and all college graduates to Moldova’s universities,” the minister said.

Perchun reminded students that they can submit their application documents online through the electronic system using an electronic signature.

“If digital technology isn’t your strong suit, you can come directly to the university. There will be specially trained staff members who will help you submit your documents through the electronic system, even if you don’t have an electronic signature,” the official explained.

The minister also urged young people to obtain an electronic signature—either through mobile service providers or when receiving a new ID card issued by the Agency for Public Services.

During the main admissions period, applications can be submitted from July 27 through August 1. Preliminary results will be published on August 8, after which admitted students must confirm their spot by submitting original documents between August 8 and 12. Final results will be announced on August 14. An additional admission round will be held for unfilled spots from August 15 to 24.

Through the platform www.eAdmitere.gov.md, each applicant may simultaneously apply to a maximum of three universities and select up to three degree programs at each.

Education Is a Priority

This year, state universities are offering 9,013 state-funded spots, with education majors once again remaining a priority area for state funding. There are 5,380 state-funded spots allocated for bachelor’s and integrated higher education programs, of which approximately 20.5% are designated for the “Educational Sciences” field.

In addition, the number of state-funded spots has been increased for majors where there is high demand for specialists, including in the fields of biological, chemical, and physical sciences; engineering; architecture and construction; forestry; and veterinary medicine.

For the 2026–2027 academic year, the number of state-funded spots for dual education programs in “Journalism and Information Sciences,” “Economics,” and “Engineering” has also been increased. For the first time, state-funded spots have also been allocated for the majors “Forestry” and “Public Service.”

Based on the results of a pilot program in the 2025–2026 academic year, the 2026 admissions cycle will, for the first time, include state-funded spots in distance learning programs for people with severe and profound disabilities who are unable to attend in-person classes.

The state quota continues to include separate state-funded spots for young people from the diaspora. A quota for Roma is also provided.

In addition, this year the number of special state-funded spots for graduates of educational institutions in the administrative-territorial units on the left bank of the Dniester and the municipality of Bender has been increased from 262 to 280.

Admission to master’s programs requires a score of at least 7

There are 2,771 state-funded spots available for master’s programs. For the first time, only applicants with a grade point average of at least 7.00 will be eligible to compete for state-funded spots.

There are 504 state-funded spots allocated for residency and clinical fellowship programs: 489 for residency and 15 for clinical fellowship. The number of spots has been increased by 69 due to the growing number of graduates from integrated medical programs and the need to ensure mandatory professional training for doctors and pharmacists.

A total of 133 state-funded spots have been reserved for foreign citizens as part of the Republic of Moldova’s obligations under bilateral agreements in the field of education.

For doctoral programs, 225 state-funded spots are provided, which will be distributed across the fundamental fields of science, culture, and technology, taking into account national priorities in research and innovation.
