NEET PA 2026: Check eligibility, important dates, age limit and selection process for admission in Pre-Ayurveda course to Central Sanskrit University.
The Central Sanskrit University (CSU) has announced to conduct the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Pre-Ayurveda (NEET PA) for admission to the Pre-Ayurveda programme for the 2026-27 academic session. The programme, approved by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), is for admission to the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) course.
The course follows a 2+4.5+1-year structure, which includes two years of Pre-Ayurveda, four-and-a-half years of the BAMS programme and one year of compulsory rotary internship. The programme has been introduced in accordance with the NCISM’s Pre-Ayurveda for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery Regulations, 2024.
The university will begin registration process and release detailed guidelines soon. The registration process is expected to begin in the third week of July 2026.

NEET-PA 2026: Eligibility criteria, exam pattern
Only those who have passed Class 10 under the 10+2 pattern or the 5+3+3+4 school education structure from a recognised board, including state Sanskrit boards, are eligible to apply.
Age limit: Applicants must be at least 15 years old on or before December 31, 2026. The maximum age limit is 25 years. There will be no age relaxation for any category.
Exam pattern: The entrance examination will be conducted in offline mode using OMR sheets. It will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions carrying one mark each. There will be no negative marking and candidates will get two-and-a-half hours (150 minutes) to complete the paper. It will be held in Sanskrit, Hindi and English. The final list of examination centres across India will be announced separately.
The minimum qualifying marks for unreserved category is 50% and for SC/ST/OBC/PwD, it is 40%.

NEET-PA 2026 syllabus
The entrance examination will test candidates in Mathematics and Science. The Mathematics section includes topics such as numbers and arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration, data handling, probability, coordinate geometry, line and angles, simple interest, mean, median and mode, and the Indian number system.
The Science section is divided into Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Physics covers topics including motion, force, sound, light, electricity, magnetism and the solar system. Chemistry includes matter, atoms and molecules, metals and non-metals, fuels, pollution, chemical reactions, chemical formulae and pH values. Biology includes cells, tissues, hormones, body systems, microorganisms, crop production, reproduction, adolescence, health, diseases and environmental conservation.
