New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) has announced the first round of undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session, offering 93,033 allocations across 221 programmes offered by 67 colleges. The allocations cover 1,393 programme + college combinations. The shortlisted candidates can accept their allocated seat till Saturday, 11.59pm.Of the 93,033 students offered allocations, 42,019 are male and 51,014 are female. The university reported an allocation rate of 86.1%. It made 1,243 allocations under the Single Girl Child category and 242 allocations under the Orphan category, including 109 male and 133 female candidates. The university said 2,18,284 candidates successfully registered for the admission process, while 2,08,043 candidates completed Phase II of admissions till July 13.Candidates who receive the payment link must complete the fee payment. Those seeking a better preference can exercise the ‘upgrade’ option and reorder their higher preferences by 11.59pm on Tuesday.After submitting the programme fee within the stipulated time for a particular admission round, candidates will be given the option to choose between “Upgrade” and “Freeze”. Those opting for “Upgrade” will be allowed to reorder their higher programme and college preferences during the same admission round in which they secured admission. Candidates may revise the order of their higher preferences multiple times until the deadline of that round.Category-wise, the Unreserved category recorded the highest seat fill rate at 99.9%, followed by OBC at 96%, SC at 95.2%, and EWS at 92.7%. In comparison, the fill rate was significantly lower for ST candidates at 67.3%, while the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category registered the lowest fill rate at 23%.Meanwhile, for the two-year postgraduate programmes, the third allocation list, including Round 1 of performance-based programmes such as MFA, BPEd, MPEd and Music, has concluded. So far, 10,240 candidates have been admitted, of whom 6,240 have frozen their allotted seats, while 2,153 have opted for an upgrade.DU will shortly announce the schedule for Spot Round I and Spot Round II for performance-based programmes, as well as admissions under the Children/Widows of Armed Forces Personnel (CW) and Ward supernumerary quotas.For the one-year postgraduate programmes, which are offered to DU graduates who have completed a four-year undergraduate degree under the UGCF 2022 (NEP 2020) framework, a total of 12,639 candidates have registered so far.In the five-year integrated law programme, the first spot round concluded on July 12, 2026, while the second spot round will begin on Friday. For BTech admissions, the third round of allocations and admissions will begin on Sunday.The academic session 2026–27 will commence on July 28, 2026.
