University of Jammu PhD Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, every candidate must check that they meet the University of Jammu PhD eligibility criteria for the PhD program.
- Candidates must have a 1-year Master’s degree after a 4-year Bachelor’s degree or a 2-year Master’s degree after a 3-year Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the concerned authority.
- A minimum of 55% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade) in the qualifying Master’s degree is required.
- Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS, PwD, and other eligible reserved categories are entitled to a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks.
- Candidates applying directly after a 4-year Bachelor’s degree must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks or its equivalent grade.
- A 5% relaxation in marks for the 4-year Bachelor’s degree route is also available for eligible reserved categories as per NEP 2020 and UGC guidelines.
- Candidates holding equivalent qualifications from recognized foreign universities are also eligible to apply.
