New Delhi: University of Delhi (DU) Wednesday began trials for admissions to undergraduate courses under the extra-curricular activities (ECA) quota for the 2026-27 academic session. Candidates from several categories are appearing for assessments at designated colleges across the capital.The trials are being conducted across categories including dance, debate, music (vocal) and theatre, and are scheduled to go on for a week, excluding Sunday. Bharati College is conducting dance trials for Indian classical, Indian folk, western and choreography, while Ramjas College is hosting the Hindi and English debate categories. Vocal music auditions are held at Mata Sundri College for Women, and theatre trials are underway at Miranda House.“The university had earlier published the category-wise trial windows and venues to help candidates, particularly those travelling from outside Delhi, make advance travel and accommodation arrangements. Following the closure of the correction window, DU released the detailed schedule allotting individual candidates specific dates and time slots for their trials,” said an official.Candidates have been asked to report strictly according to the schedule uploaded on the university’s admission portal, as no separate or personal communication is being sent regarding trial timings.The next set of ECA assessments will begin Friday, when yoga trials commence at PGDAV (Evening) College. These are expected to conclude within two days.Several other categories will be assessed over the coming week. Quiz aspirants will appear for a written test at Zakir Husain Delhi College (Evening) on July 20. Fine arts trials, covering sketching, painting and sculpture, will begin the same day at Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College and are expected to continue for three to four days.On July 21, candidates applying for creative writing (Hindi and English) will take a written test at Hansraj College. Digital media trials, including photography, filmmaking and animation, will also begin on July 21 at Maharaja Agrasen College and are expected to run for three to four days.Instrumental music trials, covering a wide range of Indian and western instruments such as tabla, sitar, flute, violin, guitar, keyboard and drums, are scheduled to begin on July 21 at Sri Aurobindo College (Day). Divinity trials will also commence the same day at Rajdhani College and are expected to conclude within two days.Unlike most ECA categories, admissions under the National Cadet Corps and National Service Scheme categories do not require physical trials. The university has said that marks for candidates in these categories will be uploaded on the admission portal around July 25 or 26, after which a grievance window of two to three days will be opened to address any objections.
