Thousands of undergraduate aspirants across Odisha received a major boost today as the Higher Education Department released the much-awaited 2nd selection merit list for Phase-I UG (Degree +3) admissions for the academic year 2026-27.
The list, published at 2:00 PM, has selected 41,578 students in the second round.
This comes after 1,78,782 students were chosen in the first round, out of which 88,480 had already taken admission and 48,614 opted for the slide or float option.
Key Highlights of the 2nd Round:
- Total sanctioned seats: 2,87,519
- Total students applied in Phase-I: 2,37,200
- Male students selected: 17,737
- Female students selected: 23,839
- Transgender students selected: 2
The gender balance is particularly heartening, with female students clearly outnumbering their male counterparts — a positive sign of growing participation of women in higher education.
Ravenshaw University Continues to Set the Benchmark
The most competitive cut-off marks once again belong to the prestigious Ravenshaw University, Cuttack:
- Arts Stream: 99.67% (Economics)
- Physical Science: 96.17% (Physics)
- Biological Science: 94.33% (Botany)
- Commerce Stream: 93.67% (Commerce)
Other notable high cut-offs include:
- Self-Financing (Computer Science) at Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (Autonomous) College, Bhubaneswar – 92.00%
- 5-Year Integrated B.A. LL.B at Madhusudan Law University, Cuttack – 88.83%
- Shastri Stream at Shyamsundar Sanskrit (Degree) College – 70.00%

- Arts: 23,815
- Science: 13,331
- Commerce: 2,915
- Self-Financing: 1,168
- Shastri: 286
- Law: 63
Students who have chosen the Freeze option must now report to their allotted colleges between 21 July 2026 (10:00 AM) and 23 July 2026 (5:00 PM) to complete admission-related formalities.
